COMPUTER RECYCLING
Computer
recycling is all about renewal and re-use of a computer that is disposed of.
Over the past years, we put tons of electronics equipment and with hazardous
substances that cause damage in the environment away. Most people simply throw
away their old or used computer parts, because they are unaware of the
environmental problem that may cause the elimination of neglect and
electronics. In this essay I will speak about computer recycling in the early
history and the development and the future.
General speaking, Computer recycling is all about renewing
and reusing a discarded computer. For the past years, tons of electronics equipment
with hazardous materials has been thrown away which cause damage to the
environment. Most of the people simply throw away their old computers and other
electrical parts because they are unaware of the environmental problem that
they may cause from careless disposal of electronics. That’s why it is very
important for us to know what it is in the computer and how it may affect the
environment if we just have to throw it away without knowing how harmful it is.
In order to reduce
this threat, people find out that recycling is highly beneficial for the
environment and also for the human being. As stated in proquest “Computer
Reruns & Recycling partnered with a computer recycling company in Oklahoma,
Natural Evolutions” (HOLT.L, 2007, April 03).
There are many ways of recycling a computer. Reusable
materials include steel, glass, plastic and precious metals. Ink cartridges,
floppy disks, CDs, speakers, keyboards and cords contain materials that could
easily be reused. You could also start shopping for re-useable disks. And the
other way on recycling a computer is through a donation to a charity. Based on my research I
found out that there are some establishments with donated a large inventory of
computers to other establishment for them to reuse. Same as what The Carnegie
Mellon University did to Goodwill Pittsburgh by the year 1995 where they
donated a large inventory of computers that leads to the creation of the
Computer Recycling Center on the South Side of Pittsburgh. And after that year some
programs which are dedicated to refurbishing computers began and the volume of
computers needing to be fixed increase significantly. Rather than throwing
those old or discarded computers why don’t we try to reuse them or donate to
other people who badly need it? You’re not only helping them instead your also
helping the environment reduce the pollution by waste. Don't wait too long to
do it, as it could cost more in the future.
In conclusion,
I believe that these days are showing many useful technologies and techniques
which helps the environment and the human lives, Computer Recycling is really
useful step that bring many useful industries and who knows maybe many years after,
the used or old computer parts will be treasure for us or antiques, who knows?!
.By using the computer recycling technique many ideas or inventions will be
develop moreover; it may help thousand types of Researches. But on the other
hand for the normal users they have to make sure that we can’t use the old
parts without any repairs before using, because it may bring serious damages.
