Masdar is considering building a wind farm
U.S. $ 200 million, near the Arabic border that would be one of the first type in the Middle East. Abu Dhabi is committed to
7% of the sources of renewable energy sources, wind is become a contributor.
Gulf States are not windy area, “We are under some pressure because the
Government has announced the 7% target by 2020, so we have to move in big steps”
(Yee, 2011). Masdar responsibility is achieving emirate`s expectations, They
have two renewable plant being built in Island with 100mw, But both plants are
not enough. You can build 300mw farms near Saudi border. Wind energy is more challenging to grow in the
GCC of solar energy, and in UAE, wind power is limited because of the nature of
wind.
